On August 22, 2018, RNSHA hosted a Community Blood Drive . With participation from RNSHA, Belt Collins LLC, and our community, we were able to register 28 donors, of which 10 were first-time donors. 25 units of blood were collected and may result in touching the lives of up to 75 patients. RNSHA participated in a School Supplies Drive this Summer for nearby Fern Elementary School. We were able to donate various items including composition books, binders, pencils, glue sticks, and slippers. Principal Glen Miyasato was very appreciative and informed us the School will be able to use the donated items for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year.

Each year the Hawai‘i Council of Engineering Societies selects three professional engineers for the Lifetime Achievement Award, Engineer of the Year, Young Engineer of the Year and one student for the Student Engineer of the Year award. Team RNSHA came to the Arboretum armed with gardening tools and green thumbs to help spruce up the grounds on Saturday morning March 18th, 2016. The Team endured sore backs and hands while working in the heat and humidity to beautify Lyon Arboretum which is home to the unique flora of Hawai`i and the tropics.
