Ronald N.S. Ho
Chairman/Founder
Ronald N. S. Ho founded the company in 1978 and has over 50 years of electrical engineering experience. As chairman, Mr. Ho is responsible for the overall management and fiscal responsibility of the entire engineering and production staff of the firm, including engineering of energy performance projects.
His extensive background includes projects involving master planning, design, and services during construction for land development projects, water pumping stations, wastewater facilities, exterior recreational lighting, primary and secondary electrical distribution, commercial and industrial buildings, tenant space improvements, high-rise residential building, and military facilities.

Sean K. Sugai
President / CEO
Sean Sugai started with the firm in 1988 as an electrical engineer and escalated up the ranks from principal to president. He has over 35 years of electrical engineering experience on various types of projects throughout the State of Hawaii and Guam. As president, Mr. Sugai is responsible for the overall management and fiscal responsibility of the entire firm, including management of the firm’s electrical engineering production, marketing and employee benefits.
Mr. Sugai’s project experience includes airport infrastructures, education facilities, repair and construction of naval wharves, recreation centers, commercial buildings and offices, private residences, subdivision utility infrastructure distribution systems, roadway lighting, and primary electrical distribution systems. Several of these projects have included sustainable design and have been submitted for LEED certification.

Steven H. Sakai, P.E.
Vice President
Steven Sakai has 40 years of electrical engineering experience. Mr. Sakai’s responsibilities include project management, supervision of engineering personnel, and design and coordination of various projects. His work includes master planning, modeling, traffic signal and intelligent transportation improvements, electrical distribution systems, subdivisions, overhead-to-underground conversion, military contract (MILCON), and roadway widening projects.
Mr. Sakai’s electrical engineering experience spans a wide range of projects, including building renovations, residential and commercial subdivisions, military and telecommunications facilities, primary electrical distribution systems, highway and recreational lighting, and irrigation pump stations.

Dennis I. Toba, P.E., LEED AP
Vice President
Dennis Toba has 34 years of electrical engineering experience. Mr. Toba’s responsibilities include overseeing project managers and engineers, being the principal-in-charge on all their projects, and coordinating, managing and designing his own electrical projects involving: Department of Accounting and General Services, Department of Defense, University of Hawaii System, Department of Education, Department of Transportation – Airports Division, Department of Agriculture, Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Mr. Toba’s electrical design experience includes primary, secondary, and telecommunication site distributions; interior and exterior lighting systems; day lighting and automated dimming systems; building interior power and telecommunication distribution systems; airport infrastructures; industrial, commercial and retail facilities; LEED projects; photovoltaic and wind turbine systems; and telemetry SCADA systems for projects in Hawaii, Guam, and Kwajalein.

Billy J. Ornellas, P.E.

Billy Ornellas has 24 years of electrical engineering experience. As a principal, Mr. Ornellas’ responsibilities include overseeing engineers; coordinating, managing, and designing electrical projects for: State of Hawaii Department of Transportation –Highways, Harbors, and Airports Divisions, City and County of Honolulu Department of Design and Construction, Department of Accounting and General Services, University of Hawaii System, Department of Education, as well as private clients.
Mr. Ornellas has a wide-ranging electrical engineering background that includes work on highway widening and bridge repair projects, roadway and site lighting systems, primary and secondary electrical distribution systems, renovation and new designs of commercial office, retail and industrial buildings including lighting and power distribution systems, electrical check metering systems, renewable energy systems, fire alarm systems, access control systems, security surveillance systems, and airport infrastructure.

George D. Takase, P.E.
Principal
George Takase has 20 years of electrical engineering experience and has provided project engineering design services for various electrical designs. Mr. Takase’s responsibilities include overseeing engineers and coordinating, managing and designing his own electrical projects for State of Hawaii Department of Transportation – Highways Division, City and County of Honolulu Department of Design and Construction, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, Department of Education, Castle & Cooke, Hawaii, Inc., Hawaiian Electric Company, Hawaiian Telcom, Spectrum, Sandwich Isles Communication, and other agencies of the various projects designed.
Mr. Takase has a diverse electrical engineering background that includes work on primary and secondary exterior distribution systems, roadway and highway lighting, and lighting for recreational facilities and parking areas. His experience also covers commercial, residential, and institutional buildings; utility relocations and extensions; traffic signals, cameras, and variable message signs; as well as generator installations.

Scott Shiraishi has 18 years of electrical engineering experience. As a Project Manager, Mr. Shiraishi’s responsibilities include overseeing engineers and coordinating, managing, and designing his own electrical projects for the Hawaiian Electric Company, City & County of Honolulu Department of Design and Construction, State of Hawaii Department of Transportation – Highways Division, and State of Hawaii Department of Education.
Mr. Shiraishi’s design experience includes primary, secondary, and telecommunications site distribution, roadway and highway lighting, interior and exterior lighting systems, building power and telecommunications systems, and emergency generator systems. Additionally, he also coordinates with agencies such as Hawaiian Electric, Hawaiian Telcom, Spectrum, and other agencies across various projects.

Senior Project Manager
Jenson Santos has 19 years of electrical engineering experience. Mr. Santos’ responsibilities include overseeing other electrical engineers and designers, managing and designing his own electrical projects while coordinating with other disciplines involving electrical designs of government, residential, commercial, and industrial projects throughout the State of Hawaii, Pohnpei, Kwajalein, and Guam.
Mr. Santos performs quality control reviews on other engineer’s designs; performs major property and facility condition assessments; preliminary engineering reports; feasibility studies; scopes new projects; negotiates with clients and prepares fee proposals. Mr. Santos’ electrical experience includes roadway lighting systems; primary, secondary, and telecommunication site distribution systems; subdivision utility infrastructure distribution systems; photovoltaic systems; telemetry and SCADA systems; pumping stations; treatment plants; recreation centers; military facilities; industrial and office buildings; retail and commercial complexes.

Andrew Izawa has 9 years of electrical engineering experience. Mr. Izawa’s responsibilities include overseeing one engineer in addition to coordinating, managing, and designing his own projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Transportation Airports Division, Department of Accounting and General Services; State of Hawaii Department of Education, and University of Hawaii.
Mr. Izawa’s design experience includes interior and exterior lighting for commercial and residential buildings; educational facilities, recreational facilities and high-end retail; parking lots; chain restaurants; instrumentation for water pump stations; shopping center development; photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems; generator installation; reconnection of mission critical systems; patient care facilities; electrical service relocations and extensions; and high-rise buildings.
